I think he’s been asked to shorten his distribution to try and find the full backs when they are high up as opposed to hitting the forwards. That reduces his area to kick into pretty significantly and means he is often looking for smaller players too. If you have wright or Simms playing you probably go a bit longer and the kicks look better because they hit your man.

We gave Real Betis a good game, and giving these a good challenge as well - we certainly don't look like a 'lesser team' against foreign top-flight opposition (albeit St Pauli are only just joining that level). Hopefully bodes well for the season ahead.
