BTA is a much better player than Simms and it's barely a debate.

BTA was played out of position most of the time and tactics didn't suit him .
I don't think BTA is capable of the performances Simms put in against Wolves and Man Utd, but that just makes Simms even more frustrating tbh. He had his moments first season, last season he was fucking hopeless.

To counter this, there are several performances / goals that BTA put in that Simms is not capable of.

I genuinely cannot fathom how people can watch Simms and think he’s a good player.

We’ve not but Binks didn’t make sense. Had some really poor performances

I don't think that's totally fair. Binks showed some promised in his first season while on loan and at the time there was a lot to build on. I can see why he was signed.

The problem is he massively regressed and in reality he just doesn't suit Championship football.

If Stockport only want £3 million for Pye. Would be tempted to cough up the extra £500K.

Is another inexperienced kid what we need at the back though? It’s a very young back five as it stands without Kitching.

I couldn’t see it myself but young lad, still developing, maybe they expected him to kick on a lot more over the past 12 months. Also, he might fit a five at the back but not in a four for me

Yes, several. For instance, Boro at home off the bench - that ball is coming straight back at us if Simms was still on, as it had been the majority of that second half.

Please don’t get me wrong, I’m not calling for BTA to be starting up front for us. But as a backup, he’s proven he can make an impact of the bench.
