I’m saying if you’re going to draw any conclusions from two pre-season games where you conceded seven goals and scored none, it’s clear where the most pressing room for improvement lies.
You really need to get a hobby or bf/gf to take your mind off things.

It still annoys me when people babble on about this.

Tony Bloom and Matthew Benham were boyhood fans of the respective clubs they now own.

The dynamic couldn't be more different and both have injected a massive amount of capital into their clubs without any real intention of a return, well certainly in the early days.

Benham was paying off club debt before he was even in an official capacity at the club. Brighton wouldn't have their stadium without Bloom.
The point you are missing is that Bloom and Benham have put shitloads in, well more than I suspect DK has at his disposal. For DK the framework is not that he is a rich fan. He bought a distressed asset at bottom dollar and hopes with a relatively modest amount of investment to sell it on at a profit. And have some fun along the way

Was it last season, or the one before, where we played a blinder against Everton and another team and we thought the world was our oyster only for us to have a horrendous start to the season. Let's ignore results and stop picking on our players, heck if we are their friends god knows what their enemies are like. Do you guys believe in actually SUPPORTING the players and encouraging them? You must be fun on holidays.

not allowed to say that. We were winning the league after that 3-0 Everton win.

It’s pre season ….. goodness me.

as a neutral in this argument 0-7 over 2 legs says improvement at both ends of the pitch to me.
Again, it’s preseason etc. But I think the team with the 4th best goalscoring record and the 13th best defensive record last season has more pressing work to do in one area than the other, especially given the current injury situation.

No I'd did watch all of last season too, funnily enough.

First game of the season we should look like:

New GK
Hayden Thomas CB LB
Sheaf Grimes
Sakamoto Rudoni EMC
ST

Wilson
Lati
Kitching
Bidwell
Allen
Torp
RW
Simms
Asante

With Eccles and Wright to come back that would be more than enough.

yes lad when these deals going through? Any day now?

Very strange behaviour, that you've had to trawl through other threads just to find some information that I harmlessly passed along.

Get outside and touch some grass.

We have a problem that some of the players we currently have do not fit the way that FL wants to play. We let too many goals in because we are too easy to counter attack leaving our CBs and Grimes exposed, MVE is quick enough to get back but JDS/Bidwell are either defensively poor or too slow. We are too slow getting the ball forward and Simms/BTA/Haji are all better with the ball played in front of them & when we have the ball we miss too many opportunities to cross the ball & instead recycle it and go side to side. I don't think FL is going to change the way we play so we need to change players. I like Simms and think he would score goals in a team that gets the ball forward quickly like Derby & the nonsense written on here about how much he is worth is ridiculous. Left back is still a problem & we need to get rid of JDS & Bidwell and get an MVE equivalent. I hope we've worked on our attacking throw-ins & corners as we are too predictable. A GK on loan is definitely needed.

An incomprehensible comment.
1. Saddle has indicated that DK has a 5 year plan and then he is off, almost regardless
2. He's a hedge fund manager by experience - that is his skill set - he's applying the model to us, just a lot more cleverly than SISU
3. We are still relatively modest spenders, reliant on two successful sales grossing 35m before netting off payments.
4. He's been open about the rules on spending - see point 1
5. We undoubtedly were distressed asset. SISU wanted out then and there, having failed to get the ground

I don’t think they were saying anything different to that?

For the record I wasn't saying we can replicate the Brighton/Brentford model at all - just giving an example of how selling your best players doesn't mean you have to 'burn' a season / get worse

Unless you're in the Champions League everyone in the pyramid has to try to trade up - but if you're smart you can lose 1/2 players each year and improve

Still entirely irrelevant to the post I was responding to but thanks for the random lists of points.
