Ive been told this morning that unless its frees or loans, no one else is coming in until we've offloaded some

Probably not groundbreaking info, but the issue is no ones attracted even a bid yet. Not even Milan
That's probably correct and the club can't spend what it doesn't have

Of course, but does make sense. We don’t have money tree and need to recycle a star to move on / flip squad members to try and upgrade them.

I do think Lampard and team can get more
Out of squad as is Also.
I don't think it does, we can't endlessly spend but we will know what we need to strengthen and will be looking to do this.

We aren't going to risk standing still and being overtaken

I said it the other day, we’ve got 4 strikers who cost decent money and will be on a good wage. We obviously can’t go and spend another 5/6 million on one before someone goes.

Simms is obviously not in Franks plans but he will be difficult to shift. Maybe a loan to another team in this division, team like Oxford could do with him.

Thats paid for KKH. Club knew vik was off so it allowed them to jump on early knowing it was coming back

Brau's wage has been covered by Tavares, Burroughs etc all being released

Its a case of needing some outs now if we pay a fee
Fair enough really.
I'd still be ok with MVE being sold as more than happy with KKH - if that allows us to bring in a couple of quality players to bolster other areas.

Such a shame robins recruitment bar Rudoni and Dovin was ridiculously poor last summer.

We’ve got some very good players so nothing to worry about

can see frank getting a high quality loan from Chelsea late in the window

hopefully we can move on 2 of the strikers and one of reserve cb’s

Yeah other than our two best players. 🙄

Very funny how the head of recruitment changes depending on what point people are trying to make.

Both great signings so kudos to him for that.

But most of the signings last summer have been poor, and are the players most would happily let go

Realistic sales to raise funds:

Van Ewijk £7.5-10m
Eccles- £2m?
BTA- £2m?

Others like Lati, Binks, Collins, Bidwell/Dasilva could go but I couldn’t see us getting much for them.

@Saddlebrains any news on loanees or if Doug is going to allow any ?

Think we still need a decent CB and an attacking midfielder.

Rest of the squad has improvement in it and if we start well will push at the right end of the table

Ridiculously?
We finished 5th and he signed a player who's value is only going to increase .
It was average at worst and acceptable at best but wasn't ridiculous
Ridiculous too strong appreciated, think it was below average/ poor

hopefully one of Raphael or Bassette have a break out season

Is the lack of interest/bids stemming from DK standing firm on his value for players when clubs are enquiring ? If so, not a bad thing at all.

Why would you sell Eccles ?
And for that matter BTA ?

We aren't going to get massive upgrades on either in my opinion
Eccles was a bit part player at most under Frank, he’s not going to replace Grimes and he’s not very well suited to the attacking 8 position Torp and Rudoni play.

BTA is ok but im not massively enamoured with our striker options, it could do with a refresh.

I’m sure Frank has targets he wants to bring in to play his system and the money has to come from somewhere.

Equally, you can't spend what you don't have. The club hasn't had a significant player sale in two years. At some point outgoings are needed to free up budget to make room for others to come in.

That's the cycle which the club adheres to whether you want to believe it or not.

Until he got injured he played ,as an 8 , in a lot of games . I think Lampard sees him in a more progressive role than fans seems to have pigeonholed him into

So potentially still in for Toffolo if we ever were

It’s a bit more open but pretty much the same as I was told, which was ‘no more incomings’. Sounded like regardless of what happens with Gyokeres.

Yes, you miss the point again.

We signed theee first team players Rudoni EMC and Dovin, all were a success really. Just cos you don’t think Luis Bunks is an amazing backup for £1m doesn’t mean recruitment was “ridiculous”

I said it was too strong and below average/poor was fair

Binks Raphael BTA and Bassette were the other 4 signings that summer.
