Just a subterfuge, someone needs to put that talk sport nonsense to bed, although Doug did say the sale won't produce anything tangible or to that effect.
I think you have to take that bit as Doug talking to the other owners and agents listening and not to cov fans. Wouldnt want other clubs thinking they can mug us off on prices once they see Gyokeres move thinking we’ve just become flush with cash.

Didn't he have a Swedish girlfriend who was a footballer when he was at city ? I think his current girlfriend was quoted as saying that she will persuade him to stay at Lisbon, no doubt because she knows if he moves then she knows he will move on from her as well.

Yeah because it'd be impossible for her to move with him.
God forbid she’d have to move with him. The relationship will never last!

Sporting return for pre-season tomorrow. Interesting to see if Vik arrives.

But yeah further reading makes it seem like they are still at the fee stage

Just feels they’re trying to bully sporting into accepting arsenals offer. We’ve been on the other end of this so no sympathy for sporting, just want highest fee for our slice though

Tbf they've had fantastic value from him.
They've achieved more than they could of expected thanks to his goals.

He's earned the chance to play for Arsenal, and they will make a massive profit from the deal no matter what the final sum is, they have the right to hold out for the best deal, but they can hardly complain that hes going.

It will be interesting to see how he gets on in the Premier league.

They can also rightly say he is under contract and they won't accept a fee less than what they see as his value.

Very true, but hes also said that he ain't going back (out of order imho) so they arnt in a good position. (Neither is Vik if an agreement doesn't materialise)

It's not very professional when a transfer saga is this drawn out and hostilities are aired in public.

It's quite a contrast when compared to the way that Doug and Frank have operated. There's barely a whisper coming out of CCFC.

And Vik is 28 next off season, the window for top clubs signing him is getting smaller
