Same mate, I’ve written off the season already unfortunately. If we get to see two extra games of football in the playoff semi finals it’s a bonus, no chance we’re getting promotion this season though.

I can’t even fucking describe the hatred I have for this man

If we could swap him for Simms I'd give Simms a piggy back to a Sheffield and him a piggy back back to Ryton.

It’s like the permutations thing. It won’t change over night but people just keep recycling what’s been said 100 times already.

Welcome to the forum!
Let's be honest, people want the debate shut down because it's made a lot of people look foolish.

They're basically saying keep including a player who's not up to the task

I hope he does well tomorrow and if he does they'll see it as vindication, when in reality we should be turning up tomorrow for nothing more than a day out with our play off berth secured and he's a major reason we're not.

If people didnt keep defending the inclusion of a player who's cost us several points there'd be no need to.

Which one? Thomas, Kitchin, Binks, Collins, Dasilva, Bidwell, Sheaf, Eccles, Simms, Wright, BTA, Lati...?

How many times though to we need to learn in theory and practice that Wilson is shit and Collins is slightly shitter? I’m done, sell both this morning and buy a good one this afternoon!

I get angry when Saddle announces the team on here, yet here I am even angrier that he hasn't announced it this week. FFS man, find out if MVE and Thomas are back and let me know!

Think it's time the witch hunt stopped.

If he's in goal, he's in goal. No amount of whinging will change that. If this continues into/during the game tomorrow, we may as well throw the towel in. He's going to be under a lot of pressure, but remember he is a human being. Get behind whoever is wearing the shirt, in whatever position and play your part.

Whilst I am sure the majority on here will be mature enough not to openly lament players during a match, there is a section of football supporters that will take that to the extreme and the make the atmosphere toxic. Don't fuel that, it will only lead one way.

I'm his biggest critic on here, but was singing his name against Baggies and Luton.
The time it turned toxic was at Pompey, when the debate about him was nowhere near the levels it is now.
Nothing from here is continuing into the game

I hope you're right. But we can't speak for the Facebook Ultras unfortunately.

It's almost like this is a discussion board.
Big brain comeback!
It's not that deep anyway, just a little comment on how I've opened the forum this morning and it's the exact same thing being said over and over. Honestly what else is there to say on it at this point?

Yeah

Tbh I think most people understand it's a damned if you do damned if you don't situation

But a select few are setting it up to be a monumental lampard failure. It's an agenda I'm afraid. But I see it for what it is and they hate that lol. Some have ran away scared it seems

While I think most posters on here are too smart (and that's the last compliment I'll ever give the posters of this forum) to carry shit on into a game, we definitely have sections of extremely toxic supporters. Here's hoping they keep their bullshit to themselves tomorrow as everyone needs to be together for this.

I've not seen him get any abuse at games since he came back in, (it could have happened but I've not seen it).
I'd like to think what happened at Portsmouth was so out of order its made people think twice (that could be wishful thinking)

It's very simple to me. Say what you like about Collins but he is very good with his feet for a GK. The way Lampard likes us to play needs a GK who is also good with the ball at his feet. We saw last game he is a capable GK but the problem is he is never far away from making a mistake/wrong decision that costs us a goal.

Wilson is a half decent GK but a liability with the ball at his feet. If Lampard is to play Wilson he would also have to consider playing a different system instead of playing out from the back. And as we have seen in recent games he isn't willing to change our system even when keeping to it gives the advantage to our opponents who play best against teams that use a high line.
Didn’t he kick two or three straight into touch at Luton!? Oggy would have been proud.

Edit: having now been through all the thread these points have been made multiple times!

Seen quite a few mentions about how Collins is in the team because of his passing and it suits our game plan more. So I had a look at the numbers...

Wilson kicks it long 45% of the time compared to Collins 38%. Given they both average 28 passes per game that means Wilson makes two long kicks per game more.

Of those long kicks, Collins completes 5 per game and Wilson 3 per game.

They have both completed 100% of short passes. Collins averages 98% for medium length passes and Wilson is 97%.

So are we really picking the worst shot stopper in the league because he makes two more long passes per game?
