And yet we’re starting a keeper who opposition fans actively want to play, and who probably doesn’t particularly want to play himself
There are no good options here. Lampard’s job is to pick the least bad.

If you think Wilson is certain to stink up the gameplan, then I can see the logic in taking a punt on Collins playing like a normal keeper for once. Hard as it is to remember, he can actually do it!

Imagine this if you will

0-0 in the 94th minute city get a corner Brad Collins goes up and rises like a salmon at the back post and powers in a header. Fans and management go wild he’s totally redeemed

Then gets flagged offside

Bugger
He really is shite if he can be offside from our corner. Get rid of him ffs

If we had the Collins for 89 mins against Luton that’d do, but he’s always got one of those in him, said on Saturday it’s what keepers do when they’ve had nothing to do all game they think they have to get involved and end up doing something like that, he didn’t need to get involved, he was having prob his best game, makes it even worse, just Hasn’t got the concentration good keepers have

I agree with that and perhaps Wilson’s been dropping even more ‘Collinses’ than the OG in training. If he has I’d be surprised mind you

His game started to go after about 10 minutes before the fateful mistake.
I've no idea why. He'd played well to that point.

If Collins is Lampard's man no matter what, and if he plays again after last week then he must be, I'd rather he just came out and said it. That would shut down the arguments at least and might instil a bit of confidence in Collins.

And if all that is the case (which seems possible at this point) why did he sign Wilson on an extended contract?

It's a myth that Collins suits our style more. Unless our style is conceding goals via goalkeeping errors.

First it was Collins was good at sweeping and suits the high defensive line, Collins then disproves this against Burnley and Luton with his poor decision making costing us two goals. This argument is now a proven weakness against Collins as he doesn't have the decision making capable of playing behind a high line effectively.

Now people can't say he suits the high defensive line it's distribution people have moved onto justify his inclusion.

Enjoy the debate on why Wilson is better than Collins. I'm off fishing to relax. That's unless I finally get my PB carp today. Still after my 1st 50lb after coming close last year a couple of times.

We're going to do it. Flights and hotels booked. Staying until the last week of the month. Beat Middlesbrough, thrash Sunderland then Collins MOTM at Wembley 🤪

Myth?

The one good thing about Collins is his kicking ability. We play the ball to him frequently. A few games ago he helped set up our winning goal in injury time. Maybe you have forgotten how bad Wilson is with the ball at his feet because he hasn't played for so long.

I'm not trying to justify him playing. It's just stating what I see as the reason why Lampard plays Collins and not Wilson. We have one keeper who makes mistakes and the other that frequently gives possession away. One has me worried every time the ball comes into our area. The other has me worried every time he gets the ball at his feet.

Don't think he's disputing his distribution is decent.
Think he's saying when his decision making is aa bad as it is he still doesn't suit playing behind a high line regardless.

That winning goal was also helped by the fact two Portsmouth players jumped for a simple ball and missed it leading to a goal. In he same game Collins went to punch a corner missed it and the header hit the underside of the bar.

The Boro lot, reading our negativity about Collins etc , must be buoyed by the fact , they might have to only turn up to win ?
Look at where we are & all those clubs that would give their right arms to play , for a play off place & it’s pot of gold if successful.
Let’s just place some confidence in our team/ squad , to secure hopefully 5th place , with the noisiest CBS ever & on to another glorious day at Wembley

I've had the mindset all week that he's going to cost us goals and we wont make it tomorrow

Strangely cathartic, a lot more relaxed than the last play off push
Same mate, I’ve written off the season already unfortunately. If we get to see two extra games of football in the playoff semi finals it’s a bonus, no chance we’re getting promotion this season though.

I can’t even fucking describe the hatred I have for this man
