It's nothing to do with arrogance. It's taught my the FA/Observers. It's also because the referee decides the tolerance in the game not the AR. It's also to protect the lino's in two ways firstly from any flak from fans/players (rightly or wrongly that one) and then secondly as despite them being qualified referees. You specialise at a certain level. So yes they are good officials but the men in the middle are the top level officials compared to linos who may not necessarily have referred in the middle to too high a level.

Whenever we're in crossing positions we've got 2 players in their box Vs 5, we need midfielders to be getting in there. We are very predictable, nobody breaks the lines.
