Right. I’ve had my ‘not quite over it’ review of the game.

Stand by my comments during game yesterday, they blew us out of the water first half. Yes we backed off but the difference in class was there for all to see.

Crying shame we didn’t go at them from the start as you could see that Casemiro really is no centre half! Wright was beating him every time second half. Probably a direct result of them taking Mainoo off - very silly.

Didn’t think I’d ever say it, but if Tavares stays on we win it in 120. Very well played. MvE MOTM though, his best game easily.

Just shit how the euphoria was snatched away by the cruel claws of VAR. For a call that close it was decided very quickly. He was onside and I’ll die on that hill.

Just had an extended chat with my Utd supporting boss about the game. He thinks we were robbed, was saying how he’s sick of the side, feels no connection to them and often thinks about supporting Leyton Orient instead. I told him to go for it.

And this is the mentality of your average top 6 sofa fan.

"I'll support someone else"

I wonder how many of our fans we when we were shite because they went and starting supporting Bedworth United. Zero.

I also think Tavares would've finished that chance that fell to Godden as Tavares pulls further away from Casemiro who Godden allowed to get back at him.

Not because they’re shit 🤣 Because he’s sick of supporting a team he feels no connection to.

Well they weren't bang behind us. I remember 6k rattling around the bowl against Newport, FGR etc.

Let's not pretend that we had this amazing support when we were at our lowest.

Imagine this being your team's fanbase, no wonder they seem to attract nothing but trash since Fergie.

I definitely needed that hit of schadenfreude but imagine having to deal with this sort of fan every week when we get promoted, can we just take the parachute payments and stay in the Championship?
Self entitled twats.

And look where the linesman is. Right in line with it.

Lino had a great view and didn't give offside. It's a really harsh call, given we were all able to celebrate a winner for at least a minute with no warning.

Simms would have been in Godden’s position in this scenario

Maybe, I guess we will never know, could've left Tavares up top with pace on the counter-attack.

All ifs and buts now, frustratingly.

My emotions are still all over the place. Anyone else?
No, I'm fine. I didn't go though.

Mind, in saying that, I went to the Luton game and I was fine after that too. Sad, but just more of an "oh well" from me, because I felt Luton were the better side.

I may well have felt different had I have gone yesterday.

It's going to sit wrong with me for a couple of days, that's for sure.

What a bunch of bellends.
To be fair, the Man Utd fans I spoke to yesterday were actually pretty decent.

I’m over it. Ultimately it was a nice bonus to make it to the semi final and despite losing we embarrassed Utd yesterday with the three goal comeback.

I think we’d all be less gutted had we not had that VAR decision in the game at all, it really did rob us of the greatest comeback in FA Cup history

I felt a tiny bit of relief after the Luton game. It’s hard to compare the highs of this season to closing out a whole season of being battered every game. Even with Vic & Gus we just weren’t ready.

The money from going up would have sorted us out for years though and we’d have been able to strengthen further if we got relegated.

If? We would’ve got relegated and the worry would be becoming a yo-yo side

Luton have given it a very good go and will be well placed for an autos challenge next season if they don’t stay up.

I understand that, but ultimately, we want to be playing at the highest possible level, surely?
These games have shown that we don’t need to be afraid of going up and that talk of getting relegated on sub 20 points is a bit silly. We would not have as dysfunctional a club as Sheff Utd or as naive a coach as Burnley.

We’d make a fist of it.

I agree- as I said earlier on a different thread, the siege mentality really suits Robins and I think we'd have a decent chance of staying up.

I think we’d have got a pretty similar total to whatever Luton end up with this season. Well managed, great squad harmony and Gyokeres and Hamer to build around.

That and top flight clubs seem to suit our players and style more than Championship ones. I’d rather face half the sides in the Prem than I would PNE

The revisionism that goes on in this place is something to behold.

One of the great ironies of supporting the club, we want to get to a league that many of us can't stand with an officiating system we despise.

Slightly worried that I have decades more games ahead of me, and it won’t ever get better than that. I wasn’t around for 87.

There will be titles, cup runs, promotions I’m sure. Will there be a last-minute 4-3 against Man United at Wembley, after being 3-0 down with 20 to play? That might be the peak…

What a strange feeling it is, to have pegged Man Utd back to 3-3, and had a legitimate goal disallowed that would have decided the game…only to then lose on penalties.

It’s a peculiar mix of pride and outrage; bordering on total ambivalence.

On one hand, we have the earnest respect of the majority of football fans far and wide, but the image of that fourth goal going in and seeing Torp and the lads ecstatic for a minute or so, only for it to be snatched away, is almost heartbreaking.

I just literally cannot stop going over it in my head, fucking VAR.
