From the BBC match report...

"On a windy night on the Lancashire coast, it was a hard-fought contest in a game of six bookings, but few genuine chances."

Was the journo making their dinner during the whole game?!

He was at Morcambe and just cut and pasted to the wrong game 😂

Was following the thread while at Sincil Bank watching Bakayoko strut his stuff. Sounds like we could’ve had 6 but one was enough, well done Gyo for coming back strong after Saturday.

I’ve seen he’s playing more as a winger now?

He was, both sides went one up front and didn’t create much. Bolton’s goal was laughable if you get a chance to see it.

Baka didn’t do much other than fire the ball through the home turnstiles from the opposite side of the pitch!

Although a slightly fortuitous finish, that was some goal starting from the left side of defence. I reckon there must have been 7 players involved in that swift move.

Their manager - "You can feel it on the side of the pitch, there is a big difference between League One and the Championship in the quality of the play, the physicality and the speed. You have to think quicker with and without the ball and you get tested all over the pitch."

That's us he's talking about. Championship quality Coventry City.

They were like we were at this stage last season. They look like they have some decent players though

And that was us a year ago. All over the place and learning how to cope with the Championship. Our players have developed so much.

This is early days to get carried away but if we can keep this group fit and can add in quality no reason why 16th place from last year can be past.

Definitely an improved squad that can easily compete with mid table teams. Few players are showing from last year they have improved and so far Moore is a steal. Long may this continue and be a very good squad when all are fit.

Thought that earlier. They were surprised at the intensity and variety of our play, they just weren’t expecting that level of energy (and ability). Think that will be a wake up call for them, we had a few too. Not sure if they’ll survive, they weren’t terrible so if they learn fast they might be ok.

Critchlow is a very good manager to be honest, it’ll be tough but they will edge home I think.

What a fantastic day. Didn't know you could have so much fun in Blackpool.

Back at digs now. Had to point at the beer pumps by the end as have lost my voice. Well done SBA you were the 12th man. We sounded more like the home side. Was it about 2000 of us? It certainly seemed like it.

Gyo is a beast. They just couldn't handle him. What a way to come back from the penalty miss. But there was several good performances. Loved the way they came over to celebrate with us at the end. Still a very close unit. Allen played the game the doubters couldn't see in him. Replaced by the experience we needed in such a young side by Waghorn. Hamer is back to hitting a cracking ball. The whole side (other than Decosta) played their part. This side is starting to get me excited. That first half was the best I have seen us play for a long time. Every time we got the ball you felt like something would happen.

Their number 11 is a good player and kept causing problems. One to keep an eye on.

Onwards and upwards.

Earliest away win since the L2 season. Which, given where we ended up in the last 2 seasons, bodes well if we can keep up the home form.
I've been to the last two away games where we've comfortably had more shots than the opposition and took the game to them both times.

It was notable that we left not one but two players up while defending corners, the whole team is playing that bit more aggressively as predicted in pre season and it's good to watch. If we can convert a few more chances we'll be more than alright.

Just got back after tanking it through a million fucking road works!

What a game from fans and players alike.

Loved the box midfield and it really seemed to work.

Gyo (he really needs a song after this performance!) stood out as his best performance in a city shirt and literally tore Keogh a new one.

Didn’t think any of our Strikers could do the 1 up top on their own but Vic played a blinder today-harrying and chasing down scraps, holding up play and winning crucial headers.

Obviously they’ll be better centre backs to play against but it does give me more confidence in this formation in the future.

Allen definitely silenced his doubters (me included) and played well. Sheaf quietly went about his business with aplomb and Hamer showed he is coming back to his best with some very classy touches and some fabulous passes.

Moore second only to Gyo for man of the match played a blinder and is a massive upgrade from Marosi-composed, assured and was there when we needed him to make crucial saves.

Loanie left back Ian also continued from a good work out against Barnsley and again showed some great control and passing.

He’s building up a relationship with JCS & this will only get better with more game time.

Only iffy but of the night was when Waghorn seemed to just walk off without acknowledging fans.

Don’t know whether it was him spitting his dummy out over limited game time or a reaction to his Social media spat with knobheads?

Fans were definitely singing the Waghorn song so I have no idea what it was about?

A great win and City are definitely playing some brilliant stuff-just need to cut our defensive slips and put away some of our chances!!!

Yeah the Waghorn song needs knocking on the head, it’s the one they used to sing about Reda Johnson

Their player Bowler looked really good. I don't normally notice other team's players but he looked a really strong player. To be fair they aren't a bad team.

I was impressed with Bowler too. To be honest I’d have Garbutt & Husband, they played pretty well and had their hands full tonight. Keogh at times made some important tackles to stop goal scoring opportunities but at times had a mare. They should do ok this season
