We should've never shoved Mifsud out onto the wing. Last player we had, who was actually quicker than my Gran.

Although I imagine your gran was better at trapping cement and had more of a footballing brain.

I really worry about statements like this... I can see it now last minute problem with Fleck signing, Fleck backs out of Sky Blues, Fleck fails to agree terms... you get the picture

just a question..... why would an current international striker want to play in the 3rd division ...... or is it a former international on the way down ?

I'd assume the latter, or alternatively a current striker for a country that does nothing.

one positive I take from this is that we are talking football and players for a change!!

It ended yesterday.

I'm still hoping for the best and preparing for the worst. No matter what happens though, I bought me Season Ticket the week they came out and won't regret it.

It's not the same result as these players are of significant quality and would be far superior than most in that league. It's a quality over quantity argument. Let's just say kilbane, fleck and Beattie arrived. Then also let's say 2 or 3 run of the mill players also came in then we would definately have a shot at promotion.

Sorry buddy but imo opinion if you sign one player of better quality than all the rest in our league. That would work if it is the icing on the cake.
I think Kilbane will be good signing. Herman would have been a good signing. Look what happened.
We need depth not a tiny squad and 5 played who are better than anyone else. At the moment I would take 3 good league one players in replacement for Keogh.
As Keogh is awesome but we have no depth.
It relegated us last season and could do the same thus season. Christie is already out till Xmas. Cameron returning from injury and may mis pre season.
We have a couple of players who are already injury prone. We also have a lot of kids who will be inconsistent as they find their feet.
These two are good signings but cannot be exchange for depth. We still need another 5 if Keogh and cranie go.

Where did the survey say we would finish and that was without signings - mid table wasn't it?

I reckon the experienced striker who has played international footy is one of the below:

Roman Bednar
David Connolly
James Beattie
Daniel Bogdanovic
Darius Vassell
Steven Howard
Caleb Folan
Andy Gray
Alan Smith
Emile Heskey

The striker you are signing is Robert Earnshaw of Cardiff City. Not sure if is part of a deal involving one of your players.

chatting with a well informed West Ham fan over the week end, he reliably informed me Freddie Sears was in talks over a permanent move to The Ricoh !!!!!

no idea where it came from, but he's well in the know and been right on a few tips before. Watch this space ........................................................

Then why did you say you want Alan Smith? He plays in midfield now.

he used to be play striker for leeds,i was just saying which of the list i would be hasppy signing...smith can play 2 positions which helps teams without squad depth

connelly is good, maybe is hould have put him bold too but i just think an ex leeds, man u,newcastle player joining cov in l2 is still pretty exciting thats all.

but we WILL need a cb replacement

cant go with wood, cameron, willis and a 12 year old academy kid,i mwean willis shouldnt be first team really anyway

id love earnshaw but rather we keep keogh

keep clean sheets and rest of players can grab goals.

Normally it would annoy me replacing one lazy welsh striker with another but we are in such need for an addition currently that I welcome him with open arms
