Pens last night (2 Viewers)

People are saying that they were told to use the empty end for safety reasons and then let all their fans run round?

Yes they did, and the stewards tried to stop it and couldn't. Then all the Brum fans got their phone torches out and started flashing our players

For penalty shootouts they should bring out the goals used for warm up practice and place it on the halfway line for penalty shootouts.

That’s exactly what the missus said. I wouldn’t (dare) argue with her so I think I agree with you.

Seriously after last nights antics by the brum crowd the fa do need to look at this. Different if all ground was packed but to allow fans to run to the area just before and continuing during penalties is concerning. Perhaps the ref should have signalled that he was taking players off until the space cleared or informed the brum manager that as fans had encroached in the neutral area they would toss for end to take penalties.

I was too busy ranting about conceding to see if they did a toss with the captain's?

Put the rules on another thread.

both which end and who takes first is decided on coin toss. The only thing that can change this is the safety officer and I’ve confirmed with ccfc safety officer that it was a coin toss last night

Oggy / Clive were suggesting that the referee might want to make them take them from the other end if they couldn’t move the brum fans out.

Obviously didn’t happen, but would have been poetic justice.

It wouldn't matter normally because most games you have fans behind the goal but they should never have ended up with fans behind the goal and first kick. Once their fans were there it should have been seen they have an advantage and go back to the centre and flipped a coin.

There was a coin toss, I was watching one toss, Brum player pointed towards far end, McFadz turned to our group and indicated where they'd be taken, 2nd toss happened.

It was tossed, they won and chose the, then, empty end

Fair enough. Seems like a stupid rule though, like winning the toss at the start of the game, choosing your end, to kick off and have a 1 goal advantage. Should be one toss and you get one choice, end or first kick.
I think that still is. I was surprised when I read it but I’ve not reffed for 20 years

Let’s be honest had the pens been taken the end our lot were there would have been phone torches by the thousand aimed at the Brum players.

Fancied Camp over Marosi as soon as the final whistle blew, just looks like a keeper who can get in players heads and make a save

He was like the greatest showman working their fans, calling them all round and getting them going.

Was just going to ask this..
Anyone on here confirm the last time we lost a penalty shoot out, plus how many we've won in that period?

We lost one against Forest Green in the checkatrade this year :(
