Will probably be a bit hostile tomorrow seems like they’re preparing for a fight, probably why they didn’t quite sell out people don’t wanna get involved with it

Towners.

City of culture? Not surprised they'll never be that.

This is why we're not going. Never been intimidated enough not to go anywhere myself in years, but my daughter travels all over with me now and no way am I risking her there. I know its only a few idiots but they seem to think some of our idiots were indiscriminate last year and that means even families are fair game this year. Very sad. 99% chance we'd actually be ok, but wouldn't forgive myself if I put her in danger.

Completely understand that.

There is a fair chance they will be looking for it tomorrow and I doubt many of our lot will travel this time so like you said, anybody will probably be fair game. I’m sure the police will have a very tight handle on this.....

Difficult for some of them to string a sentence together but others seem a bit more sensible - it’s a football match ffs PUSB for Gods sake don’t give them any excuse for a 15 min delay or they will be crying in their beer

fuck me there's some bullshit on that thread.
The best bit is the Derby supporter, going on a thread about Coventry on a Sunderland message board to say we are insignificant.

it’s the forum that never stops giving.....

Clearly these clown never visited Cov in the 80’s or 90’s.....then there is the Swindon fan spending time on there slagging us off...

Bunch of deluded wankers.

The annoying thing is on here you’ve got pretty much universal condemnation with a few jokes about their exaggerating thrown in. On there they seem to relish the idea that there’s going to be trouble.

Someone now going on saying we hate them because they always did us over in the 70s. I’ve never heard that once from any of our fans. Sunderland aren’t special for beating us, everyone does that.

Hate all this ridiculous 'stay safe' nonsense. It's just a footy match not going over the top or entering a war zone. Usual wannabe SI crew rhetoric trying to hype things up and create tension. BookFace is full of this shite too. Just behave and have fun.

I only ever remember Sunderland being a lower league club who were always in the shadow of their bigger neighbours Nufc. Just like Forest and Country etc.
They have won absolutely nothing for over 30 plus years and done nothing of note and yet they have a massive ego that they are a massive club and everyone else is against them.

if that forum is a reflection of the rest of their fans then Id hate to live in such a shit hole full of deluded idiots up their own arse.
They need a reminder of who started all this crap between us. Three years a go I never gave a shit about Sunderland and it was just another game but after all the Jimmy Hill stuff, smashing up the memorial garden and this pathetic over exageration of the trouble last year I hope every week to see that they have lost again. They really are a bunch of strange cry babies on that forum

It's a 3rd division away game against Sunderland. Hardly galatasaray v fenerbahce. Why this game with it's made up rivalry gets bigged up I'll never know.

The most that will happen is a dirty look and few choice (unclear) words that’ll turn the air blue, probably from the other side of a copper. Typical keyboard warriorisms.

No I wasnt but I've been going to away games since the early 80s to know this 'rivalry' is nonsense.
People need to man up. Its football not tennis.

There were plenty of issues before the game and leaving the ground and Sunderland were actively looking to cause problems with any away fans. That’s how it was so fans being cautious isn’t a bad thing.....it isn’t Forest Green Rovers.

We played them 3 times in the 70s... We won, Lost and Drew.

Well if it is the same positioning as it was last season (i.e. away fans in the tier above the home fans), then the matchday safety team (including police) clearly have NOT reviewed their risk assessment effectively. It's a shit arrangement asking for trouble from whoever goes there with a few wannabes!
If anyone got injured, they would have a justifiable case to sue SAFC.

Completely agree.

I also hope they keep Cov in after the game following the chaos coming out last season. I genuinely didn’t know who was who at times....

Same stupid idea as Wolves with Molineux. Away underneath home, what a set up!

Travelling up with my mate today, does anyone know of any pubs that are going to be only Cov or advertise for away fans.

The Wheatsheaf which catered for a large amount of Cov fans isn’t allowing us in this season....no surprises after it kicked off in there.

Head over the bridge into the centre, loads of bars.
