Why is he definitely off though?

well of course he isn't definitely off but realistically he is miles off wolves first team, if he doesn't get a loan deal this year what is a year of reserve football going to prove? By next summer he'll be 22 thats getting out of the realms of a youth prospect, you should be pushing for starts by then.

I think Wolves are/were hoping he would make a loan move to the championship so they could asses him a league up. wild speculation/wishful thinking but perhaps Bright has dug his feet in and actively wants to come back to Cov. it is weird he is nowhere near wolves preseason teams and not even one lower Champ team have come in for him

It’s all “sign for cov” “come home” stuff literally must be 150 comments each post he makes lol
So is it.... Bright - "I'm loving this KFC tonight," followed by a flood of sky blues fans saying sign for us?
If so, reckon he might lose some followers / receive fewer replies if/when he goes somewhere else!

He may be feeling the love, but you can be all but certain that if he doesn't sign and goes somewhere else he'll suddenly start getting death threats and a whole bag of shitty abuse.

No, but he would be one of (if not the) most talented players in League 1 if we could get him. Would be a huge boost for fans and team. Plus a decent surface for his skills. Get him and we will be a real threat this season.

You don't think we are threat without him?

I think he's clearly a class above but i don't think he really fits in to the way we play. That said if we got him he should start because hes clearly quality but I wouldn't be distraught if he didn't sign. For example I'm more excited about Godden purely because that's exactly what we need.

It was stated on the radio on Monday that he was indeed at the game. He bought his own ticket and was sat in the stands. No sure if I would read anymore into it but he must of had a good time as the atmosphere was superb!

Did your daughter enjoy it in the end?

Sorry to go off topic a bit!

Had an amazing day! She always wanted to go to an away game and it felt like it. She even saw the goal instead of crowd watching! Travel was a doddle got a mini bus to pick us up at 1pm got to the ground just before 2pm (lots of traffic) and left at 5.15pm and at the boozer by 5.50pm.
She is well and truly hooked now.:woot: We have to get the young ones hooked as they are the future to suffer like we have!

If he is the number one transfer target, Robins will change the system to accommodate him, the lad has got some serious skills.

I mean I typed it so I guess I mean it. Should I change my mind when the first person asks me about it? "Do you mean what you just said" "No absolutely not"

Let me go over it again before you all get excited. If he signs play him, hes that good you have to accommodate the team round him. But i don't think its the end of the world if he doesn't sign, i really like how we're set up and we missed that proper striker who we now have. I would rather see us focus on a good midfielder.

He doesn't fit into the formation we have played all pre season and the first game to be fair.
Our current formation is based on the players we have.
We simply dont have anyone with Brights ability, so there’s no point pretending we do.
If he should turn up, I think he would be the first name on the team sheet, and we would build the team around him.
I think he would be just behind a front two in a 4:3:1:2 formation.

That was partly a problem last season. I remember against Oxford thinking that for all his skill he was often in places where those skills were not at their most productive. With his bright green boots your eyes were drawn to him, but the output was very mixed

No it isn't, we have played the same formation regardless of the players on the pitch ever since the Leamington friendly.

Why would we spend 2 months drilling the players on a particular setup and way of playing just to scrap it?

The front two that we haven’t played for well over a year now?

If the championship window closes, can players still leave them?
Yeah, I think that's the whole point in how it's done (not meaning to sound like I am being patronising but aware it sounds that way already haha). It's so players who didnt manage to leave in the window, have options to leave/go on loan to lower league teams to get minutes rather than rotting in reserves etc

We’ve played 4-3-3 because Bright isn’t here and we don’t have a number 10. If Bright signs, we’ll instantly go back to Robins’ preferred 4-2-3-1.

That's what I thought, at times last season we needed more of it as well

Sent from my ELE-L29 using Tapatalk

I agree that his weakness is positional discipline, but against workmanlike teams, he may well often be the difference. I certainly wouldn't want to be facing him every week, and he adds an obvious bit of creativity and brilliance that is not evident elsewhere throughout the squad. If we don't get him, I'll be fine with that (as long as he doesn't go to a rival) but if he is available, I'd snatch their hands off.

I'm not reading anymore in to that other than its not far for him to travel and he didn't have a game so came to watch his mates play.

That aspect of the post I actually agree with. The players largely know how to play a 4231 - it isn’t a world away from the current formation. The key was that if we persisted with 4231 and hung our hat on Bright coming only to be disappointed then we’d be playing catch up. I expect that if he does sign then we will immediately revert to 4231.
