Lightbourne v Bakayoko (2 Viewers)

Lightbourne or Bakayoko?

Regardless, I suspect just about all of us would like nothing more than for him to score.

(Just be prepared to wait a bit longer than with some other forwards for that sweet sweet loving)
He's already scored... Even then people tried their best to be negative.

Give the bloke a fucking chance will you? New team new players and a manager trying what formation works with the players.

We have more than our fair share of twats, it has to be said.

Doesn't every club?

Anyway, Barnsley at home(? may have been away. Dire defeats to Barnsley blur into one!) and we featured the classic forward line of Lightbourne and Haworth. Bit of a comedown from Dublin.

tbf, always seemed a bit harsh to judge Lightbourne, as he'd been signed as a bit of a punt in case he came on. He never did, of course! Haworth was a different matter, as we decided he was the better bet than Robert Earnshaw...

Would love nothing more than for him to score and then give our fans the finger or tell them to ssh to watch them cry like bitches.
It's almost as if we've contributed to his wages........

Nope. Shouldn't give him a chance. He was crap at Walsall so will be crap here. No player in the history of football had ever done well at one club and poorly at another.

Fingers crossed he doesn't get back on that plane from Sierra Leone.

Lightbourne had scored 20+ goals in each of the 3 seasons before signing for us, and on that basis was a reasonable punt, given that he was joining an established Premier League team as a squad player. There really is no comparison between the two players in terms of their records when they joined, but equally there is no comparison between the club Lightbourne joined in 1997, and the club Bakayoko has now joined, other than the shared name of Coventry City, so really don't know what point you're trying to make. Bakayoko is the sort of unproven player teams in this league take a chance on so get over it and hope that he turns out to be decent.

Exactly. No comparison to be had.

I think Bakayoko will be a better player than Lightbourne. If he gets a run you would expect at least 7 goals from him this season.

Another pointless veiled anti Bakayoko thread apart from anything else Lightbourne was a premiership player Bakayoko as yet only ever played third division

The poor bloke has just joined and is being shot down already but it was to be expected similar to those hammering McNulty after 2 games. It happens everywhere so the best way is for him to show his worth, he will never be a 20 a season man

FFS Leave Bakayoko alone will you!
He has only just arrived and people who dont know any better are already slagging him off.
He is a good footballer and is still getting to grips with a new club and new team-mates and a new style of playing.
This guy is a young lad who will give everything he has to get it right.
He is also a thoroughly decent human being who gets involved in helping others less fortunate than himself so jog on!
AMADOU IT FOR THE HOMELESS

Random fact, Lightbourne was capped by Bermuda at cricket. He was also Dwayne Leverock's coach during the World Cup when he did "that catch".

I'm not sure I've ever seen a player singled out like this so soon after joining.

It's not exclusive to us, but a lot of our fans really are pricks.

Why do you always go for the understatement?
