I'm not sure it would be any better rotating 3 goalies rather than 2. We need a settled number 1 and a settled stand in keeper.

Then again I can't see the point in signing the goalie O'Brien to be with the U23s every week.

Looks like RCC is off, presumably something is already lined up. Would we expect a fee for him?

To be fair as long as The new GK is better or as good as RCC we are no worse off and possibly getting money too...

FFS just when I thought we had turned a corner, the worst goalkeeper since the sixties has signed another contract.
How do successive managers keep missing the obvious, that he is shit, cant kick, doesn't come off his line, cant catch crosses and he commands his area like he's Stevie Wonder.
As long as he isn't number one and Obrien plays every match I can put up with, but if I have to witness yet another kick straight into touch I will run on the pitch and shove my programme up his arse sideways

It could be a mutual contract cancellation too to let him move on if that's the case.

When was the last time we had 3 keepers competing for number 1? We may well keep all 3 but seems a bit random.

i just want burge to be more consistent. some games he would come out and catch a ball in traffic and i would be like "atta boy"

and then out of nowhere he cant catch anything

frustrating.

Can't see how we've suddenly found ourselves in the luxurious position of being able to afford three goalkeepers. I think it's safe to assume that RCC is on his way. Personally I think it's a shame but I trust Robins' judgement that Burge is a better keeper.

4 professional goalkeepers now. O'Brien, Burge, RRC and Addai. Imagine RCC will leave and Addai on loan. People have differing views on Burge but hasn't every manager we had preferred him?

Surprised by this, thought he would be of and expected RCC to stay as number two.

Not disappointed though. He is inconsistent but he's nowhere near as bad a keeper as some would have you believe. Maybe training with a senior keeper and strong competition for first choice is just what we need in goal. We've not really had that since Murphy went.

Burge will be the senior keeper though, that's what is random about having the 3.

Other than Mowbray.

It's about time we sort out this goalkeeper shenanigans. Been hanging onto Burge for too long and he has proven season by season why he shouldn't be anywhere near the first team. He has been given long enough to prove himself and he has been dreadful.

and that season we finished 8th and rcc broke clean sheet record.

but if rcc has to go he has to go. maybe it will be a loan to see if he can fulfill his potential. or maybe its time for him to just go fullstop.

bit harsh - having a shit defensive line can make the best keeper in the world look shit

I think he's been fairly decent since Robins arrival.

I think both goalkeepers are pretty good certainly at this level and this new lad seems no different to them. We are league 2 remember they are going to have faults and if our keepers worst attribute is his kicking then I'm happy with that!

Not surprised tbh. Clearly favoured over RCC by Robins.

I'm just hoping we can see a fair bit of O'Brien in pre season to judge whether he should start the season between the sticks.
