To be fair I don't think I've seen anyone doubt Murphy's ability, more his level of effort in certain games.

He's been bloody awful and you can't defend him, just because he scored a goal today. You wouldn't have said that last week.

However as he has scored today, I'll be prepared to let him off if he continues this for the rest of the season.

His goal has prompted me to comment, I'll admit that. But you are way overboard with your criticism. I'm sure he'll be delighted you are going to let him off.

Slow start but I'll take a one goal lead over a decent performance.

Murphy much better when central and is wasted on either wing.

Rose, Cargill and Stephens definately offering us something that we've missed of late.

Shame for Lorentzen as looked decent at RB, just hope the introduction of Ramage doesn't unsettle us.

Always said Murphy should be played up the middle, but i was shot down in flames!!!

10 goals and top of the assists. Yep that 19 year old is shite. Sounds like some of the pricks that sit near me!!

I've always said that too so I'd back your view :D

Whenever he's played central, more so as a number 10 rather than main man up top he's turned up and looked decent.

Yes he has pace to burn which should suit the wing but he's so calm in front of goal he deserves to play down the middle

Keepers must hate how good he is in 1v1's

I think we all agreed a 1-0 scrappy win would do us today, lets hope we don't let it slip

Agree with that, a very uncomfortable 45 minutes when they throw everything at us without keeper trying to nutmeg their striker or something!

Hopefully this will be the kickstart Murphy needs, the criticism of him was warranted. It's been like playing with 10 men for the last month and hopefully this can be the turning point for him to regain his form.

Sounds like we've been poor so we've got to capitalise on being let off in the first half.

I'm glad Murph has got the goal to shut his doubters up. Had a terrible couple of games but so has everybody else, 10 goals from midfield is great and if he played consistently at his best then he'd never be in our team he'd be in Norwich's

He hasn't been the only one criticised and rightly so. But he deserved his share on recent performances.

Murphy is a confidence player. It has been that he is out of form. It really is that simple.

One thing you can guarantee on here is that for anyone who gets criticised there will be people waiting in the wings to unleash their fury when that person does one good thing. Just wait till Ramage scores ...

The lads are nervous. Needing this win. If we can come away with three points today, our next match will be a walkover.

A confidence players, especially young ones, tend to play better with encouragement. The amount of abuse he gets at the Ricoh when he's not on form clearly doesn't help
