You have obviously never caught the 07:45 Nuneaton to Coventry service then Monday to Friday. It's standing room only.

Hence "rarely many". One or two busy services a day each way.

No it is going to be the entrance to the station they have built a subway under the road from the stain carpark in central 6 to the station.
Not due to open until the redevelopment of the new carpark on the station side.

Yep, new entrance and new station building to go where the Rocket used to be. Not actually part of Friargate, it's a separate development. There will almost certainly be a pub/bar included in the new station building, definitely a need for one as passenger numbers at Cov station continue to soar.

Here is some information on the new franchise:

West Midlands franchise | West Midlands Rail

West Midlands franchise

As you can see, probably west the blessing of the combined authority, the majority of the investment is aimed at Birmingham.

No timescale on this, not sure on the status of the bay platform at Cov:

The Nuneaton to Leamington (Nuneaton – Coventry – Kenilworth – Leamington) line will benefit by:

  • a new hourly service between Coventry and Leamington following the opening of the new station at Kenilworth
  • an additional hourly service in each direction between Coventry and Nuneaton following the construction of a new platform at Coventry delivering 2 trains per hour Monday to Friday and Sunday, and 3 trains per hour on a Saturday
  • earlier and later services between Coventry and Nuneaton including on Sundays
  • a service quality regime to improve the quality of stations, trains and customer service for passengers
