I know it's a good cause, as all charities are, but why do our government match every donation for this charity, yet charities closer to home get little or no government help?

He was! Didn't they say he was once on Leeds' books? Presumably academy level since McFly have been round for ages now and he's still not that old

Hate to be a cynic on this sort of thing but since learning Terry Wogan got paid to do Children In Need...I wonder how much it costs to put on this event? How much could it actually make if everybody contributed (as they might) their time & effort freely, including the Stadium etc.
And as someone pointed out earlier - as good a cause as it might be...why not do this for some "home" cause like Children's Hospitals or whatever?
