i've just spent 5 hours assembling an Ikea bedroom. I would rather sign a contract making tim fisher chairman for life and buy a 10 year waps season ticket than go through that again.
Every chance those sadistic Scandinavian bastards could be getting cited in a divorce shortly.

The wife bought a load of flat packed furniture for the house. Six months of gathering dust later she built them, badly, but she built them. I don't think she'll bother buying anything next time :)

Yeah me too. I've always found it quite therapeutic. Stick on a bit of music and get on with it.

Once you've built one the rest are basically the same too.

Virtually everything they sell (apart from the food items) is Made in China, nothing is remotely Scandinavian.

It's cheap and relatively easy to put together... they do flat pack better than anyone else. Argos' stuff is a nightmare to put together!

If you don't want flatpack then you have to pay much more!

That being said... I got someone in to put our ikea wardrobes in... too many bits for me!

Well i quite like it - we don't have kids so the stuff tends to last a bit longer - i like the challenge of a build - nothing i like better ( as someone above) than putting some loud music on and building furniture - SWMBO cant complain can she :) - when its fucked just chuck it out and get a different colour - lighting though has always been a pain with their unique bulbs - when it used to be up the M^ it was a real chore now in Cov its really quite easy !

Have a tab of acid before you go in. Helps tenfold and makes you feel you're sneaking round people's houses.

100 % in agreement. It's like they don't want you to get out of the place. The Palma branch is panic attack inducing and the quality is just plain shite. Will attempt to avoid it for the rest of my life if possible

Ikea is OK for good ranges of small cheap household items like waste bins, kitchen storage etc. , but would never buy furniture from there now,

No, you don't. You just have to know where the 'secret' doorways and short cuts are.

Only had to go to the ones in Croydon and Brescia, both times ended in explosive arguments.

Me and my wife have a system that works. She goes and gets it and I put it together at home. We all win then and I rather enjoy it. I feel a sense of achievement once it's built. Sad man.
