Cavity Wall Insulation Issues (2 Viewers)

Anyone had any before and tried to resolve them through the CIGA guarantee?

Moved into this house a couple of years back and it’s apparently had cavity wall insulation. But it’s clearly not working. I just found out that every installation has a 25 year guarantee even if the company has gone bust.

Just wondering is anyone has gone through this before and what my chances of getting it sorted are?

How can it not work? Do you mean they’ve not actually bothered putting the insulation in?

My place needs external insulation and it’s fucking expensive

i got a insurance with my Bi Fold doors - when one of the panes did a crack job i emailed them for them to tell me oh no sir the insurance only covers a bad installation not the window itself - a useless piece of paper

That’s what it looks like. It they’ve out hardly any in. Or what they’ve put in has fucked up somehow. I dunno. I’m not an insulation specialist. I’m really hoping to avoid external. Apparently if they have fucked up I can get up to £20k of remedial work done.

What's the issue with it ? The succes or failure of it can relate to the age of the property and the width of the cavity. If the cavity narrows at certain points the 8nsukation may not have filled the cavity over the whole property. Re the guarantee

Well it’s not doing anything. I’ve had a look with an flir and it doesn’t even look like it’s there! I have a sneaky suspicion it was done by a bunch of cowboys.

Anyway got a reply back and they want pictures of the problem (?) and proof I own the house so let’s see how we get on.
