Many thought the ground share was a bluff.
Personally I felt they would try and go ahead with it.
Also feel they will buy some land
All with the view if breaking ACL and getting begged back to the Ricoh.
However I think their limit is building a new stadium I think this is where their bluff will end.

Does anyone else have different thoughts.

The shame is with their little plan. They shaft the fans destroy the club. We lose the academy and they confirm how absolutely little they care for the club.

Also when it fails they will lose about 100 million.

Agreed. A new stadium will not be built.
Chances of ACL caving in 50/50?
Big risk by SISU who could end up at the RICOH in 3 years under a new rent agreement, that's assuming we will still exist.
Maybe the FL will reject ground share on the basis that there is already a stadium in Coventry fit for the purpose?
Maybe Ann Lucas will step in a broker a deal?

It does seem to be the last roll of the dice. Hopefully the the FL will see through the plan and the fact they are also getting taken for a ride.

It is a bluff... they will never biuld one brick. But they will groudshare if that's what it takes to distress ACL. The question is: How long will it take to distress ACL and how long can they delay laying that brick? iF ph4 buys ACL they will have the financial clout to out-wait CCFC.

Won't distress acl. They will have time to see if an alternative business model can work. Think they can make small profits without ccfc

A more realistic option for SISU(not us).
Ground Share
Buy land
Get planning permission for stadium
Then sell.

Selling club plus land with planning permission for a stadium has value and would save them financing a stadium build. It could also give them an earlier exit. Building a stadium is risky, there are hidden/unforeseen costs, delays etc. Let someone else take the risk.

oh they will buy a cheap piece of land, and when planning permission is denied they will buy one somewhere else in the country where it won't be. They are not coming back.

Unfortunately our hope is with the FL so that puts it down to 2 hopes- Bob Hope and no hope. If they go they will be gone forever, might last a couple of painful years, and then become something like 'Dublin Sky Blues' FL said it can't/won't happen again after MK Dons, they also say that the fans are paramount. Yeh right :censored:

A club with a bit of land, no ground and in debt of 70m isn't worth a lot.

Think the general consensus of this thread is spot on - Sisu will take it to the wire, but avoid spending money speculatively. They will try to ground share - but it remains to be seen who would be willing to do this, given their financial track record of not paying their way. Pretty sure they will also buy some land - after all, that is a tangible asset that can be developed or resold, not necessarily as a football stadium....could also be used for houses, offices, warehousing etc etc, depending on location and suitability for use.

The challenge for ACL, as I see it, is how long they can wait, without the Ricoh being remodelled into something to give all year income. At the moment, the major part of it is given over to a football stadium.......so, at some point, they have to decide on something from the following options...

1. Agree a deal with CCFC
2. Re-use the ground for another football or sporting club(s)
3. Re-model the stadium into a facility that can be used for other things on a more regular basis (scope here for some very lateral thinking).

Basically, there is a limit to how long it can remain an empty football stadium. Even with an investor such ah PH4, a return will be required at some point.

Option 3 is a tipping point, beyond which there is no immediate return, and Sisu know this, which means that they can play their waiting game for as long as they need to.......if the FL allow them to. For me, this is why it is so important that the FL are aware of the fans' feelings, and that the Sisu proposals will not work. If the fl grant Sisu the go ahead, they get the trump card in this stand-off. Hence it is so important that we, as fans, make it clear to the FL, that Sisu's plan does not stack up financially, by means of there being no fans willing to go to 'home' games.

Question is if the FL rubber stamp the move does the contract (no evidence there is one yet) become legally binding?

If this is the case I'd imagine they wouldn't allow us to move back unless the full balance is paid in a lump sum or using the original instalment plan (doubtful there is one). The club would face FL sanctions if they renegaded on the rental agreement due to NTFC being a football creditor.
