I don't recall it at all but both teams all home international nations players seems odd now. I didn't realise gary bailey was English though, for some reason always thought he was South African.

I was 5 and it was my first ever Coventry match. Still a season ticket holder 38 years on! Remember it being a night match and seem to think it was a really windy night. Shame my son or other kids don't get to see that sort of Coventry team anymore. We'll be there tomorrow vs Port Vale, but it's not quite the same as beating Man Utd!

I'm sure we were always comfortably in front despite it finishing close.

Amazing how many British players were in the teams in those days.
Take a look at the Premiership line-ups today. From one to three British players usually; some times none.

It's conceivable I was there, though I was locked on and soon to be engaged, so more likely to have taken a pass. :p

Was living in the North West at the time and tuned in to the slightly biased Piccadilly Radio. Definitely a night game and recall Gary Bailey had a bit of a mare.

Score is a bit misleading as City were leading 4-1 going into the last few minutes. Two late United goals made it sound a lot closer than it actually was. City completely outplayed them.

Ah!!! I remember it now! Well, sort of vaguely anyway.

I think I had kippers for tea and then Battenburg cake, two slices.

It was a Tuesday and it was raining, temperature about 15°. I had a hole in my left sock that made my big toe stick out and rub on the inside of my burgandy Doc Marten boots as I walked.

Took me 57 minutes to walk to the ground, as I had missed my bus due to the driver not spotting me at the bus shelter in my dark overcoat. Think he narrowly missed a cat too that darted across the road. A ginger tom cat I believe it was. Not very old.

I sat in the M&B stand next to a stranger. I believe his name was Keith and he worked for Lloyds Bank. He was married to some woman called Mary, had two kids and was a big fan of the Good Life. The seat on the other side was empty. I believe my seat had a bolt missing on the left hand side so it wobbled a bit when I got up to cheer.

Oh and we played really well and won 4-3 I think.

Just fragments coming back to me. Sorry, my memory's not what it once used to be.

This was the first time I can remember us having half the crowd at a home game against united. Usually they outnumbered us heavily.
