    Default 20th Feb - D Day for Pompy ?

Wonder what implications this will have for us ?

    ...................

    9th Feb

Portsmouth players are still owed their January wages despite ex-owner Balram Chainrai claiming he had covered them, boss Michael Appleton has confirmed.

The club were issued with a winding-up petition by HM Revenue and Customs on 3 January and will appear at the Royal Courts of Justice on 20 February.

He may well have covered them but the bank accounts are frozen. As soon as this is lifted so that certainb commitments can be met, they will be paid and that I have read can be done so whilst the winding up order remains in place.

They could very well be on for losing a lot more than 10 points but they may get away with 10 this year and 20 next year. Doesn't look very likley that anyone will take them over so the options would be admin or liquidation. If / when they go into admin a much greater share of the debt will be to HMRC and they won't agree to a CVA and I'm pretty sure any club coming out of admin without a CVA gets a 20 point deduction. Admin is likley in the next couple of weeks before the court hearing so it will be down to how long they stay in admin.

From our point of view we could do with them coming out of admin quickly and getting the full deduction this year. Then we would have a slim chance of staying up.
