not a chance. Wells did it from more than one season in this league and went fro £1.3 million.

I'd be surprised if we got £2 million for him, and that would include add on's

Wrong, the season just gone was Wells first at league 1 level. He was playing in league 2 before that.

Bournemouth should have money to spend this summer. I think but don't quote me on it, they would get a 25% cut of Adam lallanas transfer fee if he's sold

Wells went to Huddersfield for £3million. He was at Bradford before and isn't in the same class as Wilson. I personally think 'he' has decided to stay at City. SP will play to his strengths next season and he will be able to walk into a bigger club 'free'., or close to free. He is a smart kid and knows a good season at City will open more doors than signing for a club like Bournmouth who won't play to his strengths.

City fans in playing down their famous old club shocker

City fans living in the past non-shocker.

If Bournemouth sign him, it'll be a Championship side buying from a team who narrowly avoided League 2. That's it. Not THE MIGHTY FA CUP WINNERS selling to some lads from the seaside. If Wilson leaves it'll be shit because he's gone, not because we're somehow 'above' the team he goes to.

I can't promise that they don't sell ice cream and kiss me quick hats in the concourse, mind.

I think he was 23 and went for 1.5 million plus add ons as well.

Callum is younger has abundance of pace and finishing. With him been younger clubs will fancy moulding him to their satisfaction.

When he goes I hope it is for at least 2 million and that 2 million is given directly to SP on top of the set budget for the wages for 4 decent strikers a decent CB. A decent centre mid and a back up goalie.

Like your thinking but Pressley will see none of it. Unless players come on free transfers and very low wages they won't be coming.

Would anyone accept selling Wilson in exchange for a good chance of promotion?

We have to accept that we are a Division 3 club with a very small income. Can we forget about the politics for once though? The FFP rules include all income, and transfer fees received are included in this. I have no idea what we could get for him, but if we got 2m for him it would give us an extra 1.2m to spend on transfers in and wages. Boyd would then be affordable

If he has to be sold I hope it would be to a Prem side. He isn't ready for the Prem yet, but might get a season loan out of it. So money and player for one more year. Everyone would be a winner. I hope he stays, but if he has to go I hope they do well for our club and Wilson.

That's a fair point Rob.

I would have preferred it that sisu unloaded the gun rather than pull the trigger though. After all that's what they were promising when they arrived. I'm just glad I didn't have any shares that I could have "trusted" them with. Those that did must be more pissed than any of us.

I think Tony that every fan believed Sisu would unload the loaded gun as it were and set CCFC down the path of recovery and maybe Sisu feel they are doing that, whether you believe that or not is a different argument, with regards to Wilson I don't think he'll be sold, I can't see Sisu wanting this Club to be relegated to League 2 and unfortunately if the Club sold Callum Wilson I would have my fears regarding next season.

The short answer is I don't think that promotion for CCFC would be achievable at this moment in time without a firing Callum Wilson..

If Sisu are looking to provide more financial input to help the Club gain promotion why don't they convert the current debt into equity, which if I am not mistaken can still be implied within FFP regulations?

Taken from an article on the CT website this morning.

Development director Steve Waggott said: “As Steven Pressley has said on several occasions, we don’t want to sell Callum Wilson – we want to build a team around him. Callum has also made it clear he wants to stay at Coventry City.

“We can’t stop speculation and we can’t stop other clubs being interested in him – that’s the nature of football – but we want Callum to play an important and integral role in the first-team squad next season.”

I answered the question of would anyone swap selling Callum Wilson for a chance of promotion..

Whether I think personally we can get promoted is irrelevant because that wasn't the question that was asked.

Everyone has a price. Rumours abound . Price goes up . Simples . He'll be off after everyone who's going to buys a season ticket . Same as normal .

Callum Wilson's contract is only tto the end of next season with an option to extend for 1 year.

I reckon he will go in the January window too, I can't see him taking up that option if he keeps scoring as he has been because there will be many suitors offering him more money than CCFC will be able to afford.

With SISU facing another season of max 1500 crowds at Sixfields and dwindling revenue, their backers will insist the take the first offer of £2m for Wilson and there will be plenty in the next 2 months.

He's already played his last game for us imo.

Shameful.

Hes not gone yet.....but fuck it....

...Damn you SISU for also selling Wallace, Ferguson, Hately, Gibson, Speedie, Gallagher, Dublin, Keane, Hartson....

It's not going to shock anyone if he goes but the owners have to weigh up what they have, what it will cost the club in the long run and how much to replace.. If the cost is to high of losing him he may stick around, but no doubt the club have a trigger that will allow them to cash in... I know CW has gained lots of interest and as soon as one offer is accepted others will come knocking, but until then SW and SP can say all they want at the end of it all they will not have the power to stop this if the price is reached.

Wells did it for 6 months in this league. Very difficult to judge really. Jordan Rhodes had 2 good seasons at this level and went for £8 million. He went for that much because Huddersfield refused to sell him for less.

He's bloody good is Callum and we he will go eventually as all our other good players have left over the last 40 years. Same with every other club really, we're no different. However, I don't think it will be Bournemouth he ends up at. I agree going to Bournemouth would be disappointing. I feel the same with Christie and his probably inevitable move to Huddersfield - just seems a little pointless. Christie probably wouldn't be going anywhere if it wasn't for Robins.

That's football though regardless of SISU or not.

If he went to Bournemouth I think I would cry. Lots. And I don't cry. Ever.

I wouldn't begrudge him a move, although I think he needs to prove himself over atleast one more season with us, but to go to Bournemouth would be very disappointing.

600 attendees are corporate don't forget, sisu will grind us into the ground before they go
So yes Wilson will be sold

Wow jumping the gun alot of people are..... YODA 2014...

How many links will a player of this quality get this summer, i think we will have another 6-7 links before he goes. Everyone knows he is going to go at some point but its simply down to how much they are willing to pay. We are not in a position to say £8M or F Off sadly so we have to look at getting the best deal possible.

Bournmouth is a disappointing link i must admit, i think he can do better than them.

People on here saying bournemouth is a disappointing link need to catch up to the present. A growing side with a talented young manager and a good team. Play-offs next season imo

Correct fry. A very ambitious club and there's a real buzz around the town about next season. Would be a good move for Callum Wilson.
