Who in their right minds , of a premier league club would come in for that 35 minutes a game player ……. We will be lucky if Wrexham come in for him ….
He played well against Wolves ….. that was his season!

Sheaf replaced by Kypriannou from Peterborough seems like a straightforward move and likely to happen.
That was the rumoured name but I am wondering if Burrows is the other player if he wants to move Bidwell. I'd take both tbf.

But this is the essence of my issue with JDS. We are trying to find a role for him because he isn't good enough in the one we bought him for.
But also not good enough to be anything other than a bit part player further up the pitch.

If we replaced Hamer and Gyokeres we can replace Sheaf, his stock is higher now than it will be next summer with a year left so if he wants to go we should sell and reinvest in the squad, that’s how to run a successful football club.

This isn’t this teams final form. Brentford finished mid table in this league for 5 years tinkering their squad, got promoted and are now a secure prem team.

Kypriannou seems like a good replacement.

We haven't replaced Hamer

I'm not saying that they are not upgrades . JDS was bought to be first team , he clearly isn't. I'm not constantly banging on I'm just stating that when they are starting they're falling well short of the standard needed to be effective in matches. Surely to justify a squad place they should be competing for first team starts with everyone else based on form and ability. If you're saying that fringe players are literally that then that's an admission that they aren't good enough in the first instance.

I think both get more stick than is warranted when certain big money or big reputation players have simply failed to deliver this season. We are halfway through building a squad. We are playing fringe players more than desirable. Lats is 24, one of the youngest in the squad, he’s an international and clearly influential around the squad whilst able to plug gaps all over the pitch. He’s clearly valued, yet there seems to be a campaign to drive him from the club. Dasilva is clearly struggling defensively, and probably not the player we hoped, but again seems to be OK working on that and is good around the place. I’d expect us to sign a better LB in the summer and he’s fine and again valentine plug two or three holes around the pitch. That’s what I want from squad players: willingness to learn and be patient, good attitude and flexibility.

Everyone’s on decent wages. We’re a championship football club. They won’t be close to the highest paid players. Let’s not start the Grendel/Palmer nonsense of making up a wage to be angry at.

Palmer was on £110,000 a month basic salary at Bristol who matched his Chelsea wages. He turned Cardiff down as they wouldn’t pay that for the last year of his Bristol contract - we did

What do people reckon we’d get for Simms? Long time left on his deal. Got to be talking North of £20m surely?

I think the why of Bidwell going is obvious - Robins wants a full back who is more capable in possession.

I would suspect that there is someone lined up we want to bring in, so one of Bidwell or Dasilva has to make way, and given Dasilva's contract it has to be Bidwell.
Yeah, makes sense.

If Dasilva is staying and his contract.is probably saying he is, I really think he should only be considered for the left side of midfield. So we probably need two left backs

End of 22/23 season with the hindsight of Vik and Hamer leaving

Wilson

Burroughs Mcfadzean ? Bidwell

Sheaf Eccles Allen

Palmer Ohare

Godden

Even if the players Saddle mentioned leave then we have a starting 11 of the below.

Collins

MVE Thomas Kitching Dasilva

Eccles Torp

Saka EMC Wright

Simms

There’s plenty of work to do this summer don’t get me wrong but even if we lost Sheaf the rebuilding job compared to last season would be nowhere near as bad

At the moment, £15m? After a better season in the Championship next year, then we start talking £20m+.

Have to remember he only got 13 league goals this season.

As you know I've been banging the Sheaf is staying drum for a while and that we will use Vik money

Thats not correct now. Sheaf has said he would like a crack at the premier league. Which we cannot blame him for of course

With his current value at its highest dont be surprised if we lose him

For me, if we do, that is too much of a rebuild again for the summer

Moore
Kelly
O'Hare
Bidwell
Godden
Sheaf
Allen

To replace, and then add more.
Feel very deflated hearing that to be honest
Any idea if Palmer will be moved on?

Sounds like we have to! Although I'm sure we'll hit the free market a bit, hopefully for the good ones not the shite.

If sheaf goes for say 12 I’d like to think we’d spend 15/20 million not rely on freebies

Sounds like another summer of rebuilding again.
Hopefully any new players can settle quicker than this season, especially if the play offs are still the aspiration

Doug would instantly take £15m to double his money after 1 year.

I would ask for £20m considering the length of his contract.

Maybe its naive but i dont think he would be overly difficult to replace. Middlesbrough signed Latte Lath who actually looks a better player for around the same price.

If Bidwell is going I hope we’re signing a cracking left back.
