So... who's the new captain? (1 Viewer)

Next season likely Doyle.
Puts fuel to Willis being more than likely sold with 2 captain materials in the team.
Not likely to be happy if asked to step down from being captain.

You'd like to hope decent players don't need an armband on them to be leaders.

A kick in the teeth tho ain't it losing the armband while stepping down a division with a year left on your current deal.
It's a given anyway I feel he will be off.

I agree, but a professional player shouldn't let it bother him too much, I'd hope.

I think he will be too.

And lets hope so. Weak minded losing mentality all through him-been here to long.

I reckon it will be Doyle.

Not that fussed about Willis not being captain. If he stays he can just slot back into being a player.

And not a very good one at that. Yep-Doyle for me which I'm sure SW88 will be delighted about.:D

i doubt he would care that much!

any "real" captain would not leave because of losing the armband

No but like I said previously it would be a kick in the teeth to someone who had been captain, thinking of leaving and move to a championship or league one side with a year left on his deal.
Me personally it's irrelevant as he's only 12 months left I'd cash in on him this summer while there is time to replace him or face another January bid for him and then scratching around finding a replacement.
Let's face it he's very unlikely to sign extended terms and we're not in a position to let players walk away for nothing at the end of contracts for a development fee.
