Mowbray Front runner for Rotherham Job (1 Viewer)

So you don't think anyone would notice such a high profile Football Manager going into Rotherhams ground? A bit naive if anyone thought differently ;)

Not sure what you're getting at with that one SKB. Anyway, I'm off out for a day in the local beer gardens.

Speaks volumes, doesn't it Reg? Wether it was his choice or not, SISU had to have given permission! great ambitions for the Club eh!

Well the source that said he *had* already been interviewed was equally emphatic that it was at Mowbray's instigation.

If that's the case (and we shouldn't pick and choose what to believe from this source simply because it fits our particular stance), I think he should leave the club. Now!

You'll have to ask them. As mentioned a thousand times, I've nailed my colours to the mast as far as TM is concerned.

I don't know why the OP would lie but by the same token, I don't know why someone in his position would post something so openly.

I work with all 92 clubs either directly or indirectly in my role but I don't post anything that is consider to be private information.

The OP posted it before anything was mentioned in the press. Just a little unprofessional in my eyes for a company director.

I posted what was in the "public" domain in Rotherham. Like you I fully understand and respect discretion and confidentiality. I am aware of more than I have posted but for reasons above have left alone.
I really hope TM stays at Coventry as I believe he is the best man for the job and his team did a great job overall last season. I am disappointed TM choose to speak with RUFC, but I don't blame him. He is a professional guy and is keeping his options open in case of promises made at CCFC are not kept.

Has the interview been confirmed now?

No just one person spreading a rumour, official line is the club has had no approach.

My guess is it's either completelymade up or someone at Rotherham thought it would be funny to tell Neal that Mowbray had an interview because they knew bawtryneal is a Cov fan.

Dunno mate, just going by what bawtry said in his thread. Can't see any reason why he would make up something so random.

The club have stated no approach has been made haven't they? Rotherham have said they want Stubbs and if they can get him to leave Hibs then they will look no further.

Think you're missing my point G. I'm not concerned if the correct procedure wasn't taken and the club haven't been approached. If Rotherham want Stubbs, that's their affair, maybe at some point he became their preferred choice - but it doesn't change the allegations.

I said I was annoyed if an interview had taken place. Forget the debate loyalty Vs wanting to better yourself, many fans have been really upset by the way things panned out last season .... but have stuck loyal to TM and are happy for him to have another crack at it. And then this allegedly happens. Some of us might feel a bit let down IF it happened, I know I would.

Nobody has yet 100% said that an interview DIDN'T take place. If Simon or Les want to investigate that, marvelous. Or they get in touch with TM and he says its all bollocks, I will gladly accept that. Someone's going to have egg on their faces over this - TM, SISU or bawtry (who's probably the victim of a jolly jape)

Rotherham have said an interview hasn't taken place. Our club says so as well. What other proof is there?

OK, didn't appreciate both clubs have said an interview hasn't taken place G.

Forget it, all good in the CCFC hood, bawtry's obviously been lied to.

Its not only the players have agents, most if not all jobs are sounded out by an agent before any approaches are made to the employer. And just because 1 club or another club make no statement does not mean nothing has gone on behind the scene's. So if you ask a club, are you in talks with this individual they will answer NO, If you asked, have you or are you planning meetings with representatives of a said client answer maybe different.

The game is full of illegal approaches, friendly calls to feel and find out details before spending time on finding managers or players, if RUFC want TM for an interview they will know his salary and know if they are in a position to tempt him away. If all lines up and they are in a good position then they talk to the club and say can we talk to him this is what we offer you if any deal is made, the Chairman in this case stated that his shortlist is people he knows he has a very good chance of getting.

This happen's with players, i know for a fact multiple players have been at the club trained for more than a week and nothing was in the press or announced by club or agent, its doesn't work like people want in a perfect world. If and it still is a big if TM walks away from the club, i would tend to believe talks have been held with his agent and RUFC regarding the job to see if they is mutual interest. Doesn't mean it hasn't happened due to denial by clubs, individuals or no press coverage, buying clubs don't want to announce a target is free, selling clubs don't want to announce anything that will effect ST sales. Our owners are telling the truth no approach has been made, but they may know interest is there, as for facts some will say its my opinion, but its not this is how the dirty football world works.

I have an "Open mind" on this. but if TM or SISU are lying, I don't think there will be many happy CCFC fans, simply because one or the other, or both have lied.

I think people are slightly jumping the gun here, let's see what actually happens IF anything happens. People were calling him a shite manager that had been found out not too long ago now there is an outrage that he is leaving even though there is zero proof of it.

I hadn't realised SISU had made a statement on this? I thought it was Chris Anderson (managing director of ccfc) who had made a statement on denial?

Does that mean we should all be shouting at David Cameron because of the council?

Surely we need to learn to seperate things?
Although the questions have nothing to do with the thread, are they not perfectly vaild ones?

Sisu own ccfc, ccfc pays Anderson's wages. Anderson is employed by ccfc and was talking on behalf of ccfc.

You are allowed to differentiate sisu and ccfc as separate entities.

The glaziers own man united, but every statement made by Ed Woodward is not the glaziers making a statement.

In all seriousnesss... yes.

It's national government policy to make local councils have to justify decisions on a purely financial, rather than social level, and this results in what we see wrt the Ricoh.

But where do we stop? Do we then start protesting at the queen? :)

according to the sheffield star - Rotherham confirm one other club has been contacted - believed to be us
So maybe some truth albeit Stubbs is the favourite
At the same time - a Rotherham manager is likely to be around the relegation zone, so chances are stubbs may not succeed, so they may come back for Mowbray by February

We'll be clear by 17 points the top of the league by then though.

SISU do not own CCFC, they have a small stake, ARVO Master Fund effectively own the club and have first call on any assets, they have made loans to keep the club afloat in the past few years. As they're registered in the Cayman Islands there is currently no way of knowing who the beneficial owners are.
In response to our questioning, Sky Blues chief executive Tim Fisher said Arvo was now the investor in Coventry City Football Club which is propping up its finances.

The Arvo “debenture” examined by the Telegraph – effectively a mortgage arrangement – was lodged with Companies House in March 19 and lists assets as security against lending by Arvo – down to the last grass mower and gym equipment at the club’s Ryton training ground.

If TM has/does speak with another club...his heart & soul isn't in ours - let him go (after THAT run...I am still unconvinced he is the right man for the job)!
If he is not keeping his options open why doesn't he simply publicly say 'flattering, but no thanks - I want to stay here'?
The flip side of course is that SISU sniff some compensation which might mean they tell him to talk to see what is on offer.

...onwards & upwards PUSB

I suppose SISU think of the compensation as more funds for more court cases.
I bet they were the ones at school saying"He's nicked my crayons miss" !!!

If they have allowed an approach they won't be entitled to compensation.

Still another good bit of conspiracy there.
