Apparently the Coventry Telegraph today has an advert in it for the Villa.

Can anyone who has bought it confirm this?

Last time I'll be buying the paper if that's the case.

Why? The CT is a Birmingham based newspaper. That why it does half arsed attempts at representing Coventry. Time for a local rag methinks:slap:

Don't blame them if true. There's a huge city of 300,000 people without a football club playing in it, why shouldn't they try and poach some of them?

Blame SISU, not CET.

There is difference between going to watch Football at Leamington, Sphinx or Nuneaton and then paying to watch Villa play, beginging with having morales.

It is illegal for them to refuse advertising on grounds of football preferences.

No big deal. Deal with it.

Really? i find that hard to believe. we live in a free society, if someone walks into my place of work it doesn't mean i cant refuse their business.

i agree its no big deal though.

Of course there isn't Edgy but I'd be hardly reading the advert thinking "Now this sounds like a good idea" I suppose this is just my personal view.

If they have must be in the classified section as I haven't seen it.

Maybe under find a mate section along with Grendels :D

As funny as it sounds, it is a form of discrimination. Whether or not the Villa would take the matter further, if the CT refused them, is another matter.

WE do have a football team CCFC. I am all in favour of the people who go to the game. I'm all in favour of the guys on the hill. But, it's becoming a bore that EVERY thread is SISUs fault. On all fans' sites fans say they are stay at home ex-season ticket holders. If everyone who states they are an ex-season ticket holder was telling the truth we would have 50,000 season ticket holders. Many on here are just plain liars and just use the moving of our team to Northampton a an excuse to hide behind their inactivlty and for them to just whinge. It's no coincidence that we are doing well because the moaners don't go to games. I hope SISU build a stadium first with about 10,000 seats. They then sell season tickets to the guys that go to games inside and outside the stadium and that whingers that park their arses on here everyday don't see the colour of a ticket. WE don't need people who constantly whine at ACL - SISU - Jim the Gateman.

Who would pay £90 for a hospitality package to watch Villa play Spurs when for only £65 you can get a hospitality package to watch CCFC play Orient in Northampton? Apart from just about every 'floating' supporter, that is.

Or pay £9.00 and sit behind the goal choice of seats, with a quiet calm atmosphere.

To be fair who else do we have to blame and yes I was a season ticket holder block 16. Still have all my old season tickets in my memory draw along with hundreds of tickets from other games... Sad ~I know but that is the shallow life I led.

This is just another fine example of this countries obsession to be shocked and appalled at absolutely anything. Get over it! i bet there are loads of Villa fans in the Coventry/Warwickshire area, and this ad is obviously aimed at them,

It's not illegal, they're a private company entitled to do what they like. No law governs it aside from maybe the Equality Act. I don't know if football support is considered a religion or belief.

Ok that's fine. But remember it was the Telegraph who claimed to be "Sky Blue all the way through". Must be the same shade of blue Mark Robins had running through him.

Whats the problem? Intelligent advertising on AV's part. All the kids round here who are desperate to watch football. Travel to Northampton or for approx the same traveling time go to Villa Park to watch Premiership football.

Anyone who has a problem with this I suggest they speak to SISU/ACL/CCC. These are the reason why this area doesn't have a club

Well this is an absolute disgrace!!! If this is true - and sorry to be very crude here - but I will be using that advert to wipe my ar5e later tonight and then I'll be posting it back to the Telegraph in the morning*!!! When will this tragedy finally end?!?!

(*It's highly unlikely that I will actually do this as I find that newspaper tends to smear and is more trouble than it's worth, but I wanted to demonstrate how disgusted I am with this scandal!)

I'll repeat - there is no football club playing in Coventry. And of course its SISU's fault. They have an absolute moral obligation to keep our club playing in Coventry. Their actions are inexcusable.

Seems you are right. Apologes!

The Equality Act does not protect other categories of beliefs, such as supporting a political party, subscribing to a larger political creed, or lifestyle options like veganism (which may form part of a religion or belief, but is not one in its own right

It's also SISU business as well as our club and they see their actions as best for business.

Not fussed by this. Print media is on life support so they're not really in a position to turn down anyone still willing to give them advertising money.

Who cares ?. If anyone is stupid enough to watch the Villa then nothing more needs to be said.
