How does cancelling the season mean impact 'days away from going bust'? If anything it will be worse financially as they will have to hand back a portion of season ticket money, TV contracts etc. Not to mention the possibility of lawsuits to claim back money spent on games that were supposed to be competitive but have retrospectively been made meaningless.

I’d hate to see some clubs relegated on the back of admin. If they go into admin and survive they should start with -10 or -15 wherever they are. But they should not stop us going up.
There may even be some further problems with the Championship so better to end the season on merit rather than voiding games.

But how does that help their situation? They still have no income before next season and when that starts they still won't be allowed fans in the ground. So what they need are games played in front of crowds. Whether those games relate to this season or next is irrelevant.

I think we could be playing in the Championship regardless of promotion and we could end up with just 3 professional tiers.
Bearing in mind this is what the Championship is mulling over at the moment there must be some value in it.
They will have to prove they have a sustainable business model...so unless they have money pumped in then no, they ain’t going to survive without games anyway. It surely depends if there is revenue to pay wages until matches start in front of crowds or they get match coverage revenues.

The Scottish leagues have now ended apart from Prem and Champs and relegation places set. They simply had to do it so the clubs could get there league prize money . It will happen now in the Leagues in England . Apart from Prem

I think it could happen in the PL too, the smaller clubs will soon kick up a fuss, they don’t have infinite amounts of money.

But we all know nothing happens without the approval of the Prem as they just threaten to end solidarity payments. Would also need their agreement on promotion and relegation.
Also if you cancel the Championship, L1 and L2 but the Prem say they are going to complete the season then you have seasons out of sync with each other. Opens up a whole can of worms.
Maybe its just the case that in Scotland the TV deals have little value so they'd rather receive the prize money and have to hand back any TV money & season ticket money. Not sure its as easy as just saying end the season and giving out money.
The premier league also want to end it and now a committee has been set to to agree an SPL expansion programme

Surely cancelling the season now will mean an even longer period of no football than usual. Also I though a lot of L1/L2 were using the government furlough scheme to support with wages - plus there were payments in from the FA and PL were there not?
