Is there any way of finding out how much the BPA generates in revenue currently?

If so, has there been any financial projections put forward for when CCFC move there to show that this is the right move for CCFC to be able to compete in the Football League?

Regardless of revenues it would if possible easily be the best solution even if there were 12,000 seats in the short term.

Then people really need to target the real enemy in the city. While the insect remains in Coventry we have no future

I was referring to the 365 day revenue. Obviously, 12,000 would be good gates for us at the minute so 12,000 is adequate for L2 I guess.

Are you saying CCFC owning the Ricoh after buying off a bankrupt Wasps is a good idea?

Agreed. I'll take this over an uncertain future at the ricoh. Not bothered about the 25,000 ceiling on capacity until we were sniffing at the prem, by which time I'll probably be in a nursing home.

Sorry, I maybe should have clarified.

I mean the non-rugby day revenues. The 365 day revenue, it will be better than nothing at all, but I can't see it being much personally.

Although I am 100% in favour of the BPA over a poor Ricoh deal/Northampton etc.

Think about it this way, we increase the capacity when required rather than building it thinking they would come! a max capacity of 25k would be fine as long as it worked! clearly we would need to see what they were proposing.... reading between the lines Jon Sharpe will be the one who shows the finer details!

Rotherham's New York Stadium would just about fit on the BPA site but only holds 12,000. Here's how it would look, assuming that the pitch would need to maintain its current orientation.

If you believe 25,000 you may need assessing now for some institution. ;)

So the deal at the Butts will be better?
Can't see how we get CRFC to finance it, then we rent it and .............. we get 365 day incomes.

People need to now ask the right questions.

The stadium to get some extra capacity would have to be sunk below ground level.

It's very complicated but I'm sure Fisher has a mockup model of the stadium in his garden shed.

The retirement village doesn't seem to be on those pictures Dave
I'm sure the residents will all be delighted for their retirement dream to be enhanced by 15,000 football fans every Saturday.

Give the old boys free season tickets. They've moved into a retirement village in the middle of student housing on the outskirts of the city centre next to a stadium. They can't be expecting silence.

Can't believe they've got people chatting shit about this again.

I put this on the other thread but can't resist it again

The only way a serious football ground can be housed on that site is if they acquired half of Spencer Park too, but hang with on a minutes there's a rail track in the way. There is no infrustructure. I suspect Fisher has reignited this bollox to try and scare the Wasp lot who financially need the football club at the Ricoh and TF needs them to get round the table and quick. The naming rights deal at the Ricoh is far more lucrative with ccfc there.

Dave come on you are a bright lad.
Surely you can see what's going on here. Don't get into a debate about the whether it's viable because if the retirement village

Also try and buy some time get the fans back on side, build to the case of a hounding out by the Council. Set up leaving the city. Try and get the club to the end of JR2.

I just think arguing about the exact capacity, the engineering of it, parking, planning, the old boys flats etc is jumping the gun. Don't give Fisher excuses, just tell him its a fantastic idea and get on with it.

What's he going to do if the Trust, local media, supporters, council, all the various fans groups say its fantastic lets get on with it and see the plans. He'd be screwed then. This isn't even like the last fantasy stadium. He's named a site and said the owners of the site are all for it.

He will just drag the whole sorry exercise out, whilst getting a temporary extension at the Ricoh in order to do it. Or get the FL to allow us elsewhere whilst it is done.
Then it will take a couple of years just long enough forJR2 to completely fail all appeals.
With the poor fans getting excited about us storming division 4 under Robins at the Butts when we finally get there. (Which wont happen)

I don't see how it can work, but as far as Im concerned Im with chiefdave: if that's the plan let's get on with it.

Didn't listen tonight, is it a joint operation or out of one rental deal playing second fiddle to a rugby club and into another?

Would also question how the pitch would hold up with less investment and more teams playing on it.

If all those issues can be solved though Im right behind it.

I would love the butts to happen but just isn't big enough even for 12,000 - insufficient road network to cope with 12,000 leaving a football stadium at the same time, would be significant pedestrian congestion as everyone spills onto the dual carriageway on Butts Lane. Remember Swan Lane after a game would be all fans walking blocking the road and there were multiple other routes available. Its SISU polka time agin

The other plus side would be a step up for the real coventry rugby team, especially should they ( as I expect) start climbing again. I would certainly be up for duel season tickets.

one thing not really picked up on at meeting was Fisher said he has the investment in place for this project would love to know more about that
