Have recorded it, is it any good?
I'm not sure at the moment, part of the reason for posting the thread, wondered what others made of it. Some big names in it.
I have enjoyed it, in a bemused at what's actually going on type way.

not sure where it's going with the supernatural slant on the whole thing.
The actual storyline seems to be developing nicely.
I'm taking it as a slant on the Africa angle - may be wrong. Echoes of Conrad's Heart of Darkness.

I'm enjoying it but if I'm honest not sure I've understood every nuance. It is dark and the acting and characters strong.

Watching the first three now in one hit, 20 mins into episode 2.
Very good, must have cost a few bob.

Very Impressive.
Was thinking something about his appearance put me in mind of a peaky blinders character, low and behold written by the same guy.
Great cast, writing and shooting, absolute quality.

Tom Hardy is in Peaky Blinders, he plays Alfie Solomons.

Tom Hardy didn't write Peaky Blinders, but he wrote this.

Oliver Chips?

Is he better known as Mister and do people keep saying goodbye to him?

Thomas Hardy wrote it? I would never have guessed, it's nothing like Tess of the D'Urbervilles

I've not seen the third yet, but really enjoyed the first two.
Just watched last nights episode, its all ramping up, saltpetre production from whores piss and pigeon shit disembowelling a magic cabinet and a challenge of a duel to the death all in this and more!

throw in a bit of 19th century nitrous oxide inhalation and it's all going on. After last night I'm convinced the whole thing is just a big piss take, albeit an enjoyable one.

Went through and watched all of them and quite enjoying it.

It is a bit random and half the time dont know whats going on.

No idea what him rubbing stuff on his face into a fire has anything to do with being able to go and do his half sister as a ghost.

It began promisingly but became less and less plausible as it went along. If I hadn't watched so much of it already I wouldn't have bothered seeing it to the end. I read there's to be a second series but to my mind they've already milked the idea as far as they can.
