Not really sure, really need a striker more now we have foley at rb.

Unless it's Ross? :)

Would not miss either of those two

Agreed but we would still have Bigi and rose in those positions. I suppose it never hurts to have a versatile player for the bench though, cover for midfield and for Foley.
Would depend on the deal I guess. If it was Stevenson and money for somebody who was going to come in and run games then I'm happy.

Just seen his first goal for them was lobbing Joe Murphy.

I would guess that we have turned down their revised £1.5 million offer and now they are offering a player on top as a sweetener.

If this is true and happens Alan Mac is a very reliable and efficient player and will do great in league one if he can stay fit. He won't excite you but he's old school no nonsense and does the simple things really well. He has still been good and reliable in the championship when called upon so I'm sure he will give you abit of steel in league one. Well liked here at Brentford so as I said, if it happens then good luck and I hope he does well for you

Does he just sit in front of the defence when in midfield?

Your right only about a year

To be fair Henri Mkhitaryian (spelling ?) was average for Donetsk for two years before having one great season then average for Dortmund for 2 years before having one great season before joining United.....Some players take longer to settle than others,

Not that I'm atall comparing him to Ghadzev,

Ghadzev is much better ;)

And if you get Stevenson, you've got yourself a top player. For someone that's so technical and makes passing look so effortless, his defensive work is top notch and goes unnoticed.

I've seen most games this season and believe that most of our own young players have done pretty well in difficult circumstances. The problem has been that opposition teams have used bullying tactics which we were too young and inexperienced collectively to deal with.
By the sound of it the new guys coming in have all been round the block but are still young enough to do well and compete with anyone at League 1 level.
I'm interested to see how opponents bullying our young players in future games react when they are clattered by one of our older guys next time they're on the ball
RS seems to have a plan
Won't it be great if it pans out as we hope

My one concern here is, that while I accept we need experience I am not so sure about keep bringing players in, in their mid thirties (certainly mid thirties in terms of a footballing career). That's Foley, Beavon AND McCormack.

How long can we feasibly get out of them? Obviously Stevenson and Harries are just starting out on their careers and should only get better. I do worry though about losing youth and bringing in players close to the end of their playing days.

Would be much happier if we were bringing in experience, but from players 27-30, rather than 32-33.

If it's a stop gap, then fine, but short term measures will obviously need addressing asap.

if you like that fact then its clearly not a dig to you is it?

wasnt a dig to anyone, just my observation of SBT

dont quit the forum and forget to mention me!

Probably because people are watching city games in League 1 rather than just repeating what people say on social media ;)

Oi dickhead. I'm 33.
33 is NOT mid thirties. It's post late twenties.

Yes he's a good holding midfielder but can play right back too. That's not to say he's not capable when attacking but it depends if he's given liscence to get forward. Obviously at 33 he doesn't have much left of the little pace he had before, but he's a strong tackler, good passer, lots of experience and will strike fear into your opponent's just with his gaze
