As I've been following Cov City for fifty odd years and been a football fan since I was a nipper I reckon this game I love is showing signs of cracking up.Fans of most teams never seem happy, managers get sacked for no reason, players come and go quickly, and we've got owners who ain't got a clue how to run a club. Plus you get crazy decisions by refs, players diving about, and obscene wages.
Football is supposed to be a simple game but it seems to be full of stress these days. Its called The Beautiful Game but is it ?

I love American Football. It's all about the money, but somehow they get it right. The draft system works brilliantly and keeps a more even playing field.

The team that finishes last gets first pick of the best new players.

I have fallen out of love a little with football for sure

It's all a big chase for TV money.
The big thing that irks me is the lack of British players in the top divisions.
You are no longer going to get players like Ryan Giggs who spend their entire career with one club.
If you want to go back to the way it was, you have to support a non-league club.

Unfortunately I believe Sky, the premier league, Bosman , inflated wages, a supine FA and football league have all turned the game into a circus of money and inflated egos. The increasing divide between fans and the clubs has taken the soul from football and even it's very reason for existing.
There was an article in the Telegraph today by the barrow owner indicating that he thought lower league football was the real deal and the premier league just razzmatazz.

I'd rather watch a league 1 game than some of the tripe that Sky show.

You get the odd few games that are exciting, the Man City title win, the Bournemouth-Arsenal game the other day etc, but generally it's 0-0/2-0 boring games.

Too many "tactics" now too. Not while playing, I mean sending out weak teams in cups, lesser games etc all to chase the ultimate holy grail that is, Champions League.

Going to listen to the phone in on five live 606 and you can guarantee Arsenal fans will be moaning again !

I felt like that for a while about them but when you look a bit deeper you can kind of see their point. Most expensive season tickets in the league which has helped to put £200m in the bank but Wenger doesn't want to be ambitious with it. They seem to spend to 'just do enough'.

Fair point CJ but last nights phone in should be called moan in instead ! Not just Arsenal fans but the majority phoning in it was just moaning and whinging. You got a Stoke fan wanting Hughes out,a Southampton supporter ranting about their manager, and even a Man Utd fan saying they wouldn't win the Cup even though they'd just won 4-0.
Gets on your nerves seeing where we are you'd think they'd be more satisfied !

I used to be completely against the idea but I think the sooner the inflated billionaire clubs start their European super league the better. The money will head there and then proper league system will be more competitive
