Just bought myself one and from what I have seen it is excellent!

Will be looking to watch some 3pm KOs as well as TV and Films (inc UK TV).

Can anybody reccomend me some add ons?

I used to have access to a great one, it was about 25 pound a year and everything was full HD.

It shut down though :(

Your best bet is to install a build from ares wizard, they will bring in all the streams you need.

I use pulse CNN build, but if you have a fire stick rather than the box, I think they recommend pulse lite. Plenty of builds to choose from though.

I've got 'The Beast' set up on mind and theres plenty there in terms of sport.

Can you reccomend me any for TV and FIlm? The ones I've tried I select the genre then nothing happens.

I pretty nearly always use the Exodus add on for films and boxsets but SALTS and Phoenix also come in useful too.

I always use Exodus, by far the best add-on I've found.

Struggle sometimes with the sports one - a lot keep asking for another add-on to download - should I do it? Plexus IIRC...

Will try the above for 3pm kick offs. Thanks chaps!

do you need a special "box" to create these apps or can i use my pc to do it too by downloading kodi to my desktop?

I'm thinking of trying this set up. Would it be worth downloading kodi to my laptop and trying on that first?

I use TVMC instead of Kodi. It loads a lot quicker.

Mobdro I've found is also good for Sky Sports

Bump.

Been setting up a Raspberry Pi Kodi box and have SALTS integrated for on demand stuff and Retro games through GameStarter. Just started to add Alexa control as well.

I really want to set up IPTV and radio now but need a list of working streams for UK channels (I could use phoenix but want it integrated so I can use Alexa). I can't find any m3u playlist that work. Anyone else use IPTV and got any ideas on where to look for channel lists and EPGs?

I have added the plugin for watch on I think it is, can watch it through that.

Have seen the stuff about TV but never known how it would work, unless it was a device with an aerial!

Does it work well on a PI? I guess that's pure streaming with not much storage?

I'm still messing with it, but current setup is:

RPi 3 with 64gb SD card
Libreelec OS alpha running Kodi 17 beta
SALTS and Trakt.tv to track TV shows and add them to Kodi library as well as the add-on itself.
Link to media servers (one in my cupboard, one in mates house) for movies and music.
GameStarter and Internet ROM Archive for retro games.
Control by PS3 pad and TV remote.
A bunch of random add-ons like Phoenix and Sports Devil for streaming live
Kodi PVR using Simple IPTV client and a stream list off a mate. Problem is I get kicked out of the stream after 20 seconds. This happens on all devices so Im guessing it's the links.

Im in the process of building an Alexa Skill to control it all but it can't talk to add-ons only Kodi native stuff so it can't access the TV add-ons. I need to use the PVR which used an m3u playlist for channels but I can't find a decent source.

I'm so close to my dream setup but this is stopping me :(

How does SALTS work?

Have you looked at Couchpotato and Sickbeard also?

I haven't but I will do. Picked SALTS almost at random from a Google search and it's always worked So I stuck with it. Needs a bit of setting fiddling to get right. Basically gives you a Movies and q TV Shows folder in the add-on, then sub categories like Trending and the like. Then you just pick a movie and it searches for streams and if you set it up right goes through until it finds one. Same as most Id guess. But one thing you can do is select Add to Library in the context menu of a show and it'll add it to a folder. Then you set that folder as a media source and it'll pull through all the episodes to the Kodi library and Kodi will scrape them and more importantly you can launch them from the Kodi remote so you can programming Alexa to work like this:

Just watched this.

What is Alexa? Never been into the voice stuff, it does my head in and end up arguing with it.

Would 40mbps download speed be quick enough for a kodi box/firestick?

Ive got virgin and get around 140mbps and it works fantadtic but My sister in law wants one and that's the speed she's getting when she tested the speed earlier.

Where do you get one of these bad boys from?
I downloaded kodi onto my laptop. You can get pretty much any movie you can think of and every sports channel on the planet. All for free. It can be a pain in the arse to find a decent footy stream on the odd occasion, but it's normally fine.
